I have made many tomato sauces in my kitchen, but this one has, by far, the most Italian flavor. I have never heard so many “Yumms” coming from my family! It is simple to make, even if you don’t like cooking and it only takes about 5 minutes to prepare. I have used it over burgers, pasta, and brown rice. Every time I do this, I’ve been delighted with its supreme flavor. I think it is even better on the second day. One of my favorite ways to use it is to add a cup of cooked lentils before adding it to spaghetti or another dish of whole-grain noodles. Double the recipe for a large casserole dish or to save some for a 2nd meal. You can easily store it in the freezer for a future meal.
Tomato HealthBites
If our hearts could talk, they’d ask for tomatoes every day because the lycopene in this luscious fruit lowers the LDL cholesterol in your body. That adds up to a lower risk for heart disease. Tomatoes also are a powerhouse for antioxidants like vitamins B and E. These can lower your risk as well.
