Pasta Perfect Tomato Sauce

The easiest and luscious tomato sauce I've ever had! Filled with Italian flavor to the max!

Ingredients

  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 8 garlic cloves, chopped* Or 1 tbsp granulated garlic powder
  • 1 large onion chopped (or 2 medium size onions)
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 tsp salt or salt substitute

Instructions

  • In a nonstick frying pan, saute' onions and garlic until vegetables are translucent.
  • In a medium-size saucepan, add additional ingredients. Mix in the onions and garlic. Cook for 20-25 minutes on medium heat.
  • Serve immediately over pasta, brown rice, or potatoes.

Notes

CHEF'S NOTES:  If using chopped garlic, I like to add an additional 2 teaspoons of garlic powder. If you are using the sauce in a baked recipe, such as a casserole, over burgers, or in a pizza, you do not need to cook the sauce beforehand. Just saute' the onions and garlic and mix with the remaining ingredients before adding it to the dish you are going to bake in the oven.
